Wigs are awesome, but they can be hard to wear with long or thick hair. Here is a quick method to show you how to tuck and hide all of that hair so you can wear a wig for Halloween or any other occasion.

First separate your hair right down the middle and do two French Braids. Next swirl and tuck the braids into a Heidi Braid hairstyle. To do this, take the first braid and bring it under the opposite braid and up and around the front of your head.  Secure the braid a couple of inches away from the crown of your head.  When they are at the front of your head they will catch and hold the wig on better, but it may be more noticeable that you are wearing a wig. Secure the braid with bobby pins around the front and leave it a little looser at the back. After securing the first braid, take the next braid and cross that under the opposite braid and bring it around the front of the previous braid.  Again, secure it with bobby pins.

Finally, use a hair cap to help hold the braids in place and to help keep the bobby pins from sticking into the wig. It will also help hide any stray hairs. Now it’s time to put your wig on! Put the wig on starting at the base of the skull and pull it towards the front of your head. The braids will help hold the wig so it doesn’t slide right off as you stretch it over your head. Once the wig is on you can use bobby pins or other hair clips to hold the wig on.
